Rabies vaccinations are required by state law. The first rabies administered to any animal is good for one year. Boosters administered in a timely manner are good for 3 years thereafter. NOTE: MUST HAVE PROOF OF PREVIOUS RABIES VACCINATION TO OBTAIN A 3 YEAR RABIES CERTIFICATE UNDER CA LAW.
This is an optional vaccination to prevent kennel cough, highly recommended for any dog which is socialized with other dogs. (Boarding facilities, groomers, dog parks, beaches, traveling outside the home with the pet owner, or exposed to other dogs visiting in the home) Required vaccination by boarding facilities and groomers. NOTE: If it is recommended for a pet to be vaccinated with Bordetella (kennel cough), the dog will also need to be vaccinated for the Canine Flu H3N2/H3N8.
Prevention of an infectious bacterial disease that occurs in rodents, dogs, and other mammals and can be transmitted to humans. Required vaccination by most boarding facilities.
The canine flu is present in all 48 contiguous states. It is NOT seasonal. A recent outbreak occurred in NorCal and spread as far south as the LA area. A confirmed diagnosis of the canine flu requires quarantine, and, will cost an average of $7,000.00 to $12,000.00 with no guarantee that the dog will survive. Any dog that will travel with its owner, go to beaches, dog parks, boarding facilities, groomers or socialized with other dogs is at risk. Required by most boarding facilities/groomers.
Requires an initial vaccination followed by a booster in 30 days. Annually thereafter. (NOTE: Pet owners who live in areas with a high density of rattlesnakes often vaccinate for rattlesnake bites every 6 months.)
Recommended for dogs exposed to ticks, such as hiking, travel to the East Coast where the Deer Tick is endemic. Lyme disease can be transmitted from an infected tick once it has been engorged for a period of 2-3 days. Bravecto will kill ticks BEFORE they become engorged.
