Starting your puppy out right is PARAMOUNT in the prevention of disease and illness. When a puppy is born they receive a "temporary immune system" from their mom called colostrum. Therefore in order to ensure that your puppies body absorbs the vaccines given properly we vaccinate on the following schedule:
- Vaccines are given every 3-4 weeks, starting at 8 weeks, until finished at 16 weeks of age.
- Any dog or puppy starting vaccines 12 weeks of age or older will only need 2 sets (vs 3 sets) However, until the sets are completed extra care must be taken to keep the pet from contracting disease or illness.
START AT 8 WEEKS- DHPP
Puppies that receive vaccines earlier than 8 weeks do not retain the benefit of the vaccine due to the colostrum weaning from their system.
12 WEEKS- DHPP + Bordetella
Bordetella is only given once and is now good for 1 year.
LAST VISIT AT 16 WEEKS-DHPP + Rabies
