CORE VACCINE: Core Vaccines are considered the recommend vaccinations for every dog and puppy regardless of lifestyle. (NOTE: Many boarding & grooming facilities now require the Canine Flu H3N2/H3N8 bivalent vaccination.)
Distemper, Adenovirus (Hepatitis), Parafluenza, Parvovirus (combination vaccination).
For puppies DAPPv is given at 8 weeks, 12 weeks & 16 weeks. Upon completion of this series, DHPP is good for 1 year. Then every 3 years for adults thereafter.
For adult dogs this vaccine is typically given every 3 years AFTER successful puppy series.
Rabies is a vaccination required by law in all 50 states. It can only be obtained/administered by a licensed Veterinarian. The first rabies vaccination is effective for a period of one year, regardless of the age of the animal at the time of the vaccination. When properly boostered in one year, rabies becomes a 3 year vaccination. (NOTE: Proof of the previous rabies vaccination is required. Otherwise, a subsequent rabies booster will be valid for only one year, as required by law.) Given at
Recommended for dogs that will be going to dog parks, groomers, boarding facilities, beaches & socialized with other dogs, even in a neighborhood where other dogs have been or may be present. The oral Bordetella may be administered as early as 12 weeks. The first dose of oral Bordetella is valid for 1 year. Bordetella is always an annual vaccination. Bordetella may be boostered every 6 months for frequent boarding, grooming or active dogs.
Based upon age & lifestyle & overall health of the pet
Prevention of an infectious bacterial disease that occurs in rodents, dogs, and other mammals and can be transmitted to humans. Required vaccination by most boarding facilities. With us, Lepto is administered to puppies at 20 & 24 weeks (after completion of the core vaccine series), then annually thereafter. For adults it is given once then boostered 2-4 weeks after.
For dogs that are more likely to suffer a rattlesnake bite. This vaccine works to hold the venom at the site of the bite (depending upon the location of the bite). The purpose of this vaccine is to reduce tissue damage and allow more time to get the pet to a veterinary hospital for treatment. Your pet will still need treatment for a rattlesnake bite despite having this vaccine. Rattlesnake vaccines are best coupled with rattlesnake avoidance training.
The Canine Flu is now present in all 48 contiguous states. It is NOT seasonal. A recent outbreak in Northern CA has spread, so far, to the Greater L. A. area. Dogs are contagious before they become symptomatic. Confirmed cases of the canine flu requires a quarantine of 21-28 days at a cost ranging from $7,000 - $12,000 with no guarantee of survival or recovery. Any dog that goes to boarding facilities, groomers, beaches, dog parks, traveling, etc., should be vaccinated for the Canine Flu.
Recommended for dogs exposed to ticks, such as hiking, travel to the East Coast where the Deer Tick is endemic.

This vaccine protects against canine (K9) coronavirus. This is a canine specific vaccine. Canine coronavirus (CCoV) is not the same virus as SARS-CoV-2 that causes the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). CCoV does not affect people. CCoV causes gastrointestinal problems in dogs, as opposed to respiratory disease.

CORE VACCINE: Core Vaccines are considered the recommend vaccinations for every cat and kitten regardless of lifestyle.
Fights 3 feline viruses: rhinotracheitis (herpes virus) can cause death from dehydration & starvation, calicivirus (respiratory infection) & panleukopenia (feline parvovirus), potentially causing death within 12 hours of onset. To prevent contracting rabies due to the bite of a rabid animal. There is no cure for rabies - 100% fatal. Rabies is a vaccination required by law in all 50 of the United States. Given at 16 weeks and follows the same 1 year then 3 year protocol like dogs.
Certificate provided at the time of vaccination.
Must have vaccines for cats that are going outdoors. VACCINES ARE ALL THE ABOVE PLUS FELV.
RECOMMENDED FOR EVERY KITTEN IN THE KITTEN VACCINE SERIES.
A vaccine for indoor-outdoor cats/kittens. FeLV is second only to trauma as the leading cause of death in cats. The virus commonly causes anemia or lymphoma, but because it suppresses the immune system, it can also predispose cats to deadly infections.
NOTE: Even kittens that are not planned to be outdoor cats are recommended to have this vaccine in their kitten series. This is even if it is not planned to be boostered as an adult.
Starting your puppy out right is PARAMOUNT in the prevention of disease and illness. When a puppy is born they receive a "temporary immune system" from their mom called colostrum. Therefore in order to ensure that your puppies body absorbs the vaccines given properly we vaccinate on the following schedule:
START AT 8 WEEKS- DHPP
Puppies that receive vaccines earlier than 8 weeks do not retain the benefit of the vaccine due to the colostrum weaning from their system.
12 WEEKS- DHPP + Bordetella
Bordetella is only given once and is now good for 1 year.
LAST VISIT AT 16 WEEKS-DHPP + Rabies
Rabies is only given once and is good for a year.
DHPP is now good for 1 year.
Additional Vaccines given based on lifestyle and breed. After the initial and booster all ancillary vaccines are good for 1 year:
